My bad, Arnold was in my head when I thought of the post but I couldn't remember him when I was typing it.

Arnold - obviously

Bruce Willis

FTR: Seagal is a niche actor - tough to even call him a star compared to the top 4. And this is only slightly less true for Van-Damme - I'm not sure Van-Damme even gets my 5th spot - probably Harrison Ford for the period in question.

You got to be kidding me, Van Damme did some frickin iconic action movies like Bloodsport and Kickboxer. Harrison Ford to me is more of a serious star, not so much a niche action star.

Problem is - too many comedies/kiddie stuff for the period in question - he was a huge box office draw for the period, but pivoted quickly from action films after 2 48 Hours and 2 Beverly Hills Cop films - he went back and did a 3rd BHC, but he was also doing the kiddie stuff like Mulan and Dr. Doolittle by the end of the 90s. If limited to just the 1980s, I think he does better.

But, I would still have him above Van Damme.
