Shave like a real man and shave with a double edge safety razor or a straight razor.
I swithced to a safety razor a few weeks ago and I'm never going back. Sure, it takes a little more time, and there's a learning curve, but the quality of the shave is unmatched by any cartridge razor.
I'm using Burt's Bees Bay Rum shave soap: Image: http://media.dermstore.com/catalog/100124/300x300/2329.jpg
And a decent badger brush (cost me $30.00 on Amazon).
It took some practice to get the lather right. The soap to water ratio and whipping in a shave bowl takes practice and time.
Since I shave twice a week, it's well worth my time to use good/inexpensive products and do it right.
For "aftershave" I've been using either old fashioned Florida Water
or . Baxter of California Aftershave Balm
I plan on trying different blades and soaps. I was surprised at how big a variety are out there.
