Avoided it my whole life (and I was an English major). I'm on p. 369. Poldy just spanked his monkey on the beach watching the crippled girl.
Fascinating read, but it's work.

I took a classics class in college and read the Iliad, Odyssey, and Ulysses. It's been 25 years. I wouldn't mind sitting down and doing them all over again before my time is done.

It's tough. I did the walking tour in Dublin of the sites.
Subtle brag and it didn't help much.

No, but I've done blow while listening to Tales of Brave Ulysses
And you see a girl's brown body dancing through the turquoise,
And her footprints make you follow where the sky loves the sea.
And when your fingers find her, she drowns you in her body,
Carving deep blue ripples in the tissues of your mind.
And you see a girl's brown body dancing through the turquoise,
And her footprints make you follow where the sky loves the sea.
And when your fingers find her, she drowns you in her body,
Carving deep blue ripples in the tissues of your mind.

Wife and I are talking about doing Ireland next year, and I am already planning to do this.

I have. Overrated book. Its one of those books you read so you can sound smart when you said you read it. I like the part about the chick using her feet to make dudes spend money

Different Ulysses. I'm assuming OP means the James Joyce novel. I may try it again one day, but I tried it undergrad, read about 5 pages and said frick this shite.

Nope, I was going to after Gravity's Rainbow, but I said F that and got on a Vonnegut kick. Trying Plato at the Googleplex now.

Well must be where you went to school. That's when I read these in English class. One may have even been 9th grade.

I did try. But sadly didn't get much out of it.
