Yes, joined at 17 and I'm 31 now. This is probably the major reason why.
I went to college and had never seen any type of illegal drug until I was a freshman in college. If I had never gone to college and started in the military right out of high school I'd have probably never tried any type of recreational drug.
Now having said that, the only drugs that I have found addictive to me are the ones prescribed by my doctor. XYC, acid, weed, etc. I have never found the least bit addictive (everyone is different).
I lament the fact that a painful medical condition I developed at age 21 got me on a bad path that I couldn't get off of and it was all started by Drs doing what they are supposed to do. I just found that the drugs they prescribed were WAY more addictive than any other substance I had previously done for the fun of it.
