Who here goes to a chiropractor?

I think I need to see one, but I have no idea what to expect. I watched some videos on the youtubes, and watching them snap people's necks Arnold Schwarzenegger style looks horrifying.
Is it painful? I've been told that its almost like a self fulfilling prophecy; once you go to the chiro, you have to keep going for "adjustments" and the like or you'll be back at square one.

I do and I love it. It's not painful at all. And it's malarkey that you have to keep going back once you go. I only go when I have an issue.

Why would I visit a fake Doctor.

I've heard that sentiment before. I've always thought it came from Doctors who didn't appreciate the chiropractic field.

Chiropractors serve a valuable role of helping people the traditional medical industry neglects.

I don't think I like your tone.
And I only go twice a week, which is what my chiropractor prescribed.

not regularly , but on occasion
get recos from friends in the neighborhood...
moms next door neighbor gave a good reco for a chiro that would charge a fair price for a one time adjustment...
but that's only good for folks who are familiar with their own condition and don't want to get caught up in "treatments"
my 1st experience was a blind lady chiro in oak park illinois, she has since passed but was well known...dad took me there as I woke up and could not straighten out my neck...she fixed it in one visit in 1967 for 20 dollars
my 2nd guy was in his 70's, and straightened out my neck in one visit for under 20 dollars back in the 80's
so, I had 2 bargains under my belt as experience...so I KNOW what can be done in one visit, I just need to learn if the chiro is willing and able to do that or not
so, it's a bit more complex than just seeing a chiro, hope this info helped.

Google carotid artery stroke (brain stem stroke) before you go. 32 year old co-worker, health nut, suffered one on the table. Not good.

I have been several times but nothing was wrong with me. Just had to get some medical bills to boost settlement.

There is not a medical doctor in the world that will recommend chiropractic care. Should be all you need to know.

There's a big difference between Chiro's, the key is to find one who is legit.
I go to one who also does ART and is certified in several therapies, he also is sports focused.
No pressure to come back, no crazy claims
He's been great and very candid. He told me that there are Facebook groups where Chiros compete to see how many patients they can get in/out in a day, and they often brag about their 7min appointments.

I do and I love it. Best decision I've ever made.
I recently switched to seeing a chiropractor who is also a massage therapist and it's the best thing ever.

That's kind of what I was looking for. Where is he located?

I was born with, and suffered from, a mild case of scoliosis all my life. It got worse as I got older and I started having back pains and muscular spasms. If I got really tired, my left shoulder would be 2-3 inches lower than my right when I tried to stand up straight. The spasms got so bad that my MD prescribed muscle relaxers for me. A friend suggested that I try a Chiropractor. I am 50+ years old and had never been nor had anyone else in my family. I did some research on a few and went to see one. I went 3 times one week, 2 the next and 1 the 3rd week. I can honestly say I wish I had gone 25 years ago! I no longer take the muscle relaxers and didn't have any problems for 3-4 months. When I started feeling like my back was getting "tight" again, I went in for an "adjustment" and that was about 2 months ago. I'm not saying it is for everyone, but my experience was a great one and helped me tremendously. It also got me off a drug, so that's an added benefit IMO.

Go see a PT.
The only chiro is see would be one who is also an MD. There are some out there, but I'd go to a PT first.
