Gustav based on the sheer number of trees coming down alone.

How old are all the people saying Gustav? Andrew brought down a ton of trees. Andrew was the first hurricane I remember going without power for over 2 weeks for.

For Andrew we were living in LaPlace but building a house and going to School in Baton Rouge. Andrew spun off some really bad tornadoes in LaPlace, and I remember a decent amount of branches and stuff down in Baton Rouge.

Living in Baton Rouge for Gustav sucked. No power for 14 days in my hood, luckily I decided on day 2 to gtfo and head to a friends in Houston. Remember worrying about gas because I left on 1/2 tank. Lafayette got it bad for Gustav too, think I didn't find an open gas station until I hit Jennings.

I was living in Houston when Andrew came through, so I can't directly compare... but Gustav was a mother fricker.

Andrew wasn't as bad for Baton Rouge but it tore up the hiway 90 corridor from Morgan City to almost Laffy.then it look a sharp right turn and headed to Baton Rouge. It had weakened quite a bit being over land for so long. That helped minimize the damage BR got. Gustav was basically a direct hit on BR.

I was only 6 when Andrew came through while my family lived in Ft. Lauderdale..I remember the condo collapsing in on my sister, mother and myself. Walking around the neighborhood after and seeing it all was something I won't forget.

Katrina, I was in Baton Rouge, parents evacuated New Orleans and house was a complete loss.

Gustav was pretty fricking awful in BR, you literally could only drive about 20 yds on Highland before a live oak was blocking your path.

My experience... living in the same house for both.

Gustav was stronger bringing down trees and telephone poles at my house.

Andrew was a bitch as well, not quite as strong but hit at night and took way longer to move thru. That was one long arse night.

You didn't happen to live off O'Neal Lane did you? My neighbor had a trampoline from some other neighborhood in her front yard.

Gustav! I had to get out my chainsaw and cut my way out of my driveway and street just to get out of the house. We lost 7 trees and power for 13 days.

and just think it was only a Cat 2 storm when it hit the coast. I always said if one as strong or stronger than Gustav is coming same path I'm gone! lol

Gustav was the strongest hurricane at the point of hitting Baton Rouge. I still remember working with people who were out of power for close to a month.. Maybe longer.. It was pretty bad.

For Andrew, I remember leaving NOLA to go to BR because it looked like it was going to be worse for NOLA.

I was only in like 4th grade i think but we lived in Youngsville at the time and for some reason went to my aunts house in BR. Both got it pretty bad but we were without power in youngsville when we got home and had a lot of trees down. think power was out a week or so
