I'd go with Eugene. Tempe is great if you love the party scene.

Tempe sucks but the good thing is you can live in a nice area of Scottsdale and have a 5-20 minute commute to almost anywhere in Tempe

ETA: and Scottsdale is way better than any city on that list

My entire memory of Tempe consists of Mill Ave, which is to say I don't have much memory of Tempe.

Greely, CO
Eugene, OR
Washington DC

CO is definitely #1. OR would be a fun few years as well. DC I would like to experience for a month or two.

Would love to live in West NC for a few years, but not central NC. No to VA, TX, and AZ entirely.

Well ya, if you only go to Mill all you will remember is an epic party. I wish I was still in my 20s so I could go!

I think I was 23 last time I went. I wouldn't have much interest anymore (36). I was just throwing out the party thing in case that was the OP's bag.

I can only tell you that Greensboro is a shithole. I spent two years of my life in that area that I'll never get back.

Edit to add that they will tax you to death. Income tax isn't terrible, but they tax things there that you couldn't imagine. At a high rate.

I was thinking about where it could possibly be and the only houses in Scottsdale I could think of were in the first neighborhood I mentioned and then I saw the address and had no clue. Scottsdale is laid out on a grid system so if you see the #s you know where it would have to be.

1. Eugene
2. Greensboro
3. Tempe
4. DC

The rest are worse than NOLA and I wouldn't move. Unless you can live closer to Denver, Loveland or FC for Greeley, which any commute would stink. Literally and figuratively.
