re: Where would you rather live out of Slidell, Pearl River, or Bogalusa?

If you aren't afraid of the Lake coming into your house on some tropical-themed occasion(s), then Slidell has a couple of viable neighborhood options.
If you have kids, that's another layer of complexity.
Pearl River is positively Neanderthal and Bogalusa is (at least) several evolutionary rungs below that.

That's one hell of a depressing list. Damn man, I hope things get better for you.

Born and raised in Bogalusa. Graduated in 69 and left immediately. Never been back and not going back. Take your chances on either of the other two

Ouch. I live very close to all of those places and I can't imagine what's limiting your choices.

At least in Slidell you can live on the water...

This. In-laws live on the bayou...have fishing, hunting, and bike trail...got great restaurants (Le Pravonce...Sal and Judy's)...plus you are in between Mandeville and Slidell.

I lived off of Old Military in Slidell, and it was nice, or at least it was before 05

Or... Go as far West in Lacombe as you can possibly go without going into Mandeville. A town in Lacombe called Big Branch... Some nice places around Cane Bayou.

I'd pick Jerry Sandusky's basement before Bogalusa...

State Park is in Mandeville. But it's close.
