Anyone have any course recs for Hawaii? I'll be going in a few months and will take my clubs. I've looked up a few places but wanted to get the boards opinion. Staying on the southwest tip of O'Ahu.

When I went to O'Ahu, I had a sea bag and an M-16. Didn't even own clubs then.

I played a beer drinking round with a buddy who just started playing late this afternoon. Finished right at dark. I didn't keep score but it wasn't good. Did make 2 birdies though. One of them was a tap in after lipping out a 15 ft eagle putt

Fair enough. But it was late afternoon which means I started before I teed off. Which in my mind makes it a beer drinking round. My rule is normally that I don't start drinking until I make a double bogey and I drown my sorrows, or a birdie and I drink to celebrate

Oahu

We stayed on the north shore at Turtle Bay for my honeymoon about 6 or 7 years ago. Both courses over there were great. And it will be less than an hour drive right by the Dole plantation where you can smell pineapples and shite

Played there many times. My old boss was a member of the Country Club. He would take me when I would go to Austin. Played Foothills and Canyons. Had a beer with Daryl Daye in the men's grill about a year before he died. Awesome place!

We had 5 guys go on a golf trip to Austin

We played all 4 Barton Creek courses, played Falconhead & Grey Rock, then played Wolfdancer on the way home in Bastrop.

I've played Wolf Dancer twice for a charity event my company sponsors. What a great track! Definitely a local knowledge place though. Played much better the second go round.
