When you get under-charged at the store

Question: When the cashier forgets to ring you up for an item and you only realize it after you get home, should you bring it to the store's attention and correct the record?
Pick one below:
A) YES (state your reasoning)
B) NO (state your reasoning)

No. It's not my fault they did not do their job.

Depends if I thought it would cost the cashier his/her job or how expensive the item was. Not really a yes or no question.

No, aint nobody got time for that. Also, people and systems are imperfect. Sometimes it benefits you, and sometimes it doesn't. I don't view these things as some sort of moral or ethical dilemma. It all evens out in the end.

If it's at the store I will remind them because I want to pay for the stuff I'm getting. If I get home and check the receipt or something and see something didn't get rung up I'm not going back to pay for it.

I don't think I've ever been in that specific scenario, but I will bring it to a server's attention at a restaurant if they forgot to include something on the check.

At a mom and pop - probably call them and fix it.
At a national chain - not even worth it, as they wouldn't even notice.

If I'm already home, no way. I've corrected people that forgot to scan an item when I noticed it happening though. This happened as recently as yesterday.

no
I recently bought some chicken thighs from WF that were marked $0.06
I slept just fine that night.

I go back so they charge me the correct amount.
Not too long ago, a cashier gave me back an extra $20 bill when she gave me my change. When I realized her error, I brought it back.

YES - everytime.
May not go back right away, depending on what it is, but definitely will let them know and either pay for it or return it. As a business owner, I hope for the same.

If I realize it after I get home hell no I'm not turning around. In the rare occasions I do get under-charged and I see it happen in real time I always point it out, I'm not a bum. It happened just yesterday in fact. Also in the (rare, again) situations where they let me go (didn't have my card on me and was paying cash adn was like 0.50 short) I will always give it back next time I go in.

They did that on purpose, hoping you will tip them more to make up for it.
