When you block a number on your IPhone

Does it have to be saved in your contacts to work?

Most apps let you choose from your call log. If not, they you probably have to add it to your contacts or enter it manually.

I lazily searched on the app store with my wife's iphone (It's no longer jailbroken) and couldn't find one but there are a ton of call blocking apps for android.
Only other way I know of is for your carrier to block the call on their end which involves spending a decent portion of your life on hold.

Pretty sure the iOS SDK does not give access to this, but it is built into the OS. If it is in your call history, you can block it.

Oh, thanks. It was for my wife's phone so I didn't investigate as much as I would have if it was mine.

Doesn't have to be saved. I got a scam call from Jamaica and blocked it from my call history, like colorchangintiger said.
