When to call professional for mice?

Found a mouse in house and killed it days later. Now, just found evidence of another. Do we try to tackle this ourselves or call a professional? My dad seems to think a professional is just going to use a bunch of traps, so we should just do that ourselves.
I'm terrified of a house fire (went through one as a child) and just want this to go away as quickly as possible before it becomes a huge problem.
I can't stand the thought of a freaking mouse in my house, let alone several.

1) You need to find where they are getting into the house. 2) there is a nest somewhere. Go destroy/poison it. 3) set traps/poison. 4) get a cat or dog. 5) if all else fails, set your trailer on fire

Get some rat shot and have fun.
But just get some baited trap and wait for the screams. May have to knock some out manually. My parents did that when I was a youngin and I didn't even Wake up when he put one down in our attic at 4 am

We have a dog. She's like 100 and can't see, smell and barely walk. I don't want another right now.
I assume coming in from garage. Possibly coming in from hole in Sheetrock in garage where the beloved dog went crazy and tore up.
Don't want to patch it now and have mouse or mice stuck in walls until we make sure they are gone.
Also, two young kids in house. Didn't want to use bait if at all possible. Rather do traps.

Can't they eat through wires and cause an electrical fire?

This is what I do. Catches them faster than anything else.

For a woman I always suggest glue traps with a dob of peanut butter in the center, just toss the whole thing with mouse when done.
DO NOT USE POISON, you will regret it for a year while the smell dies down.
Mice aint gonna burn your house down though

Squirrels do the same, the wires taste like soybeans

Why are you as the woman taking care of this? Shouldn't your SO be handling this?

Never. Lots of traps. Don't forget to put them under and in your dressers. When you have one, you have 20.

I lived in a duplex by a cane field in schreiver two years ago. We had a mice issue in our kitchen which was the closest room to the back door. The cats wouldn't even frick with them. Bought some little traps. Killed about 5 and that was the end of that.
