I have always found publicly crying to be extremely uncomfortable to watch and personally feel it should only be done in privacy if at all possible.

Last time I cried in front of another human was the day my mom finally died from Pancreatic Cancer in her home. I was standing next to two of my brothers. We each sobbed like babies while embracing each other. I did not cry at her funeral. That was in 2005.

When I see someone crying during an interview or in real life (outside of a funeral), all I can think is, "Get your shite together."

So I am curious as to when other people feel it is appropriate to cry in front of others and what prompted it.

That sucks. No good way to break news like that though.

I cried in front of a ton of people at my friends funeral last year. I got up and spoke about him and just couldn't hold back the tears. I broke down. He was one of my best friends for years.

Yea, I had to speak as well. Made it to the last sentence which was our last conversation and when I said what he said I started to lose it.

Maybe you should leave the mean old husband who is making you so unhappy?

I travel to Houston frequently.

Sup?

Grandmother died around 2004(?) & it was the closest . Choked up several times.

When I put my dog down about 5 years ago. Before that, half time at the super bowl after 9-11. Scrolled all the names of the victims across a massive screen. It was a very moving event.

Best friends grandpa was in good health. Found out he had cancer and was dead in a few months. Prolly the only time I've cried in public since graduating high school. Not like boohoo but couldn't fight em back and lost it when I got in the truck. One friend (female ) there to see.

I get unhappy because my 24 year old sister shot herself in January.

My husband makes me happy. He is an awesome person.

It's difficult for me to imagine not crying at my mother's funeral. I'm assuming you just grew up in a family where showing emotion was taboo? My dad is one of the toughest SOBs I've ever known, but he certainly doesn't believe that there is anything wrong with crying when losing someone important to him... Or telling his kids he loves them, showing affection, etc.
