I believe this was "shovel ready" when it was released many months ago.

Haven't even heard anything much less seeing a stake shoved in the ground.

Do you possibly have a link or reference to this release? I'm serious, not trolling or anything. I'd like to read what was actually stated. Maybe a news article or something?

Link to DOTD Project in September 2016

quote:

Earlier today, DOTD issued a Notice of Intent (NOI) seeking a design-build firm to widen this section of I-10. The NOI can be viewed on DOTD’s website. The proposed project includes widening I-10 a quarter mile west of the I-10/ Highland Road interchange to east of the I-10/ LA 73 interchange from two lanes in each direction to three. The design build contract is estimated upward of $60 million and will be funded with federal funds.

Yea. I don't see anything about turning dirt just yet. I assumed The Pecue interchange would be built before 10 was widened to 73.

But while on that fricking matter, 10 should be widened from TEXAS to motherfricking MISSISSIPPI.

NOI means they want to do it.....

There will be a couple years before this ever starts.

The proposals from the DB teams are under review for selection. Once that is done, THEN construction can start. Knowing the depth of the legal process this needs to go thru, I would say you will probably see construction start possibly by the end of the year at best.

For the love of baby jeesus can they NOT fricking see how retarded this is and simply push for and get funding for this project to be extended to Hwy22(exit182)? That would make a real difference for 20 years. not be done by the time traffic is a clusterfrick to 44.

Design build bids were just turned in. No award yet. At best construction will begin in the fall. The state is designing plans to widen 1-10 from 73 all the way to la 22.

Again, designing....will be light years until it is out for bid.
