I've gone 3 weeks without smoking other than slipping up and bumming one the other night at the poker table. The cravings have gotten a lot less noticeable other than if I'm drinking or have just finished a big meal - for which I've bought a case of nicorrette to help. Do they ever completely go away?

The only question in existence that has left me puzzled. Even the brightest people in the world have to humble themselves at times and ask for a solid

Okay, then. It goes away. Takes awhile, depending on how much you smoked. Notice where you bummed one?. Try and stay away from the places and things you usually do when you smoke when you first quit. That makes it much easier. My wife still smokes when we go to the casino about twice a year, but doesn't any other time. It's her kryptonite. I just quit altogether and even the casino doesn't bother me any more.

Im currently at 2-1/2 weeks. I was a half a pack to a pack a week, on average. It will be three weeks this friday since my last cig. It hasnt been too difficult so far. Ive only been one place where i was drinking and friends were smoking, and i didnt have one.

Eta: stick with it, bro.

Then you haven't gone 3 weeks

It takes about 2-3 months though to answer your question

That's where you can fall off the wagon, or on the wagon, how ever that should go.

After awhile, though, you will not even want one in those situations. Drinkin' and smokin' do go well together, so that's where you'll fall, if you do.

I was a pack a day smoker and the major cravings were gone after three days. I would get minor cravings when drinking and eating. I found myself grabbing for my pack out of habit before "remembering" I no longer smoked. I think people that say they still crave them years later or either full of shite or extremely weak willed.

I'm surprised at how easy the process has been thus far. I think anyone can quit if they come into it with the correct mindset. The first 3-4 days made me squirm a bit. Fwiw, I'm 29 and have been a smoker since 16. I smoked anywhere from 5-10 a day - sometimes a pack depending on how fricked up I was

This was the case for me. I quit cold turkey 10 years ago but had a couple slips where I would smoke for a week or two and then quit again. Each one of those slips started when I smoked while out drinking.

Technically I hadn't smoked for 3 weeks until Saturday night when I bummed. According to this app on my phone it's been 3 weeks and 4 days and I've saved almost $70. I feel really good about myself for committing to this.

Yea, I use to smoke that much in my sleep. When I quit it took a full month for the habitual part to ease up. Took a year before I stopped dreaming about them. After a year, I had no more urges except when hunting, specifically morning hunts in woods waiting on daylight.

Eta: I was a 2 pack a day smoker, took me two tries with Chantix to quit. I had tried Chantix about a year prior and was unsuccessful. 2nd time worked
