When applying for a job, do you provide the voluntary demographic information?

I figured maybe there are some HR folks or others with experience on the OT who can chime in.
When applying for a job, should you provide the voluntary demographic information? I'm a white cis male, and I'm always concerned that wherever I apply may have already reached their white male quota. If I was a minority, I would probably be more eager to provide such information.
I've been applying for numerous jobs, which I'm qualified for, but haven't had any luck. Just curious what others do when applying for jobs in this day and age.
For clarification, I'm referring to the sections that ask whether you're hispanic or non-hispanic, race, gender, etc.
Does anyone know whether it makes a significant difference one way or the other if you provide this information?

With my name, it's obvious I'm black

If you leave it blank they'll assume you're a white male anyway. No minority is leaving that box blank. They know how the system works.

As a white man, I've never thought it was in my best interest honestly.

I do. Don't want the job if those boxes matter.

I wouldn't hire you with that grammar but good luck all the same.
A friend of mine has a female/family middle name, so he would put first initial, middle name, last name. Idea being that he could trick someone into thinking that a woman could be that educated or qualified.

Sure do. I always check Hispanic, even though I'm white.
Not like they can prove I'm not Hispanic, or would even dare to question it.
Besides, this is 'Murica 2017. I can identify with whatever race or sex I wish.

There will be no less than 20 threads today of middle-aged middle-class men acting all sjw

at the end of all apps (esp government ones) some don't even have the 'Wish to not answer this' choice. I think it is in itself- discrimnation.

Care to elaborate? I use my commas liberally, LucasP. Don't tell me how to grammar.

Isn't the demographic info supposed to not append to the app? I believe it is used to analyze the demographics of applicants?

I'm 1% black according to my DNA test. I'm now going to use it to my advantage!

It ain't your comas, it's your preposition use. It's like you don't know what they're for!!
