What's your go-to relaxation technique when going to the dentist?

I don't mind the drill or the noise, but I get very nervous waiting for the needle that'll numb my mouth. It's because I blacked out while getting numbed there a few years ago. Worried it'll happen again even though the dentist said he switched to a different type of anethesia.

from what I understand, anxiety attacks and passing out actually happens quite a bit in a dentist office...not sure why it is so scary, but I get nervous as hell when I go.

Weird thing is that I wasn't anxious before I passed out, but now I do get nervous ever since. Dentist thought it was a reaction to the anesthesia so he switched it.
