However much you want in a checked bag. Just don't go over 50 pounds or they will rape you on the upcharges.

In a check bag it doesn't matter at all, just make sure to put the shut in a plastic bag in case it pops on the plane.

For a carry on: each individual item has to be less that three ounces and in a clear zip lock

TSA has pretty good pages on this if you Google. I'd recommend getting the info straight from them.

You've come to the right place to seek official laws governing Transportation Safety Administration procedures and what you are allowed to bring onto a plane, sir. Please do not do a Google search or go to the TSA website for the actual information. Please rely solely on the information you receive from the experts on this board.

Good luck sir

I just put all my stuff in my carry on, never take it out when going through the scanner and have never had a problem

You're right. It's 3.4 ounces.

From TSA official site of rules, liquid rule:

quote:

You are allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes in your carry-on bag and through the checkpoint. These are limited to travel-sized containers that are 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item. Placing these items in the small bag and separating from your carry-on baggage facilitates the screening process. Pack items that are in containers larger than 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters in checked baggage.

Each of your toiletries must be 3oz or less (most drug stores have a section that features these smaller travel sizes).

To speed up your time in the TSA lines make sure you have your ID/Passport and ticket out and ready before you get to the agent. If possible go ahead and remove any metal objects (keys, change, belt, etc) before you get to the scanners (I usually put mine in my carry-on while waiting in the security line).

Same here. I dont know why they have never said anything to me because they make it out to be this big deal that liquids must be in a clear bag.

Checked bags it doesn't matter. On-board it has to be less than 3 OZs as listed. If you have a full tube, but it only has 2 OZs in it, it's getting trashed.
