I think they're ok if they aren't the only decoration you put up.
When they are the only thing someone puts out it makes it look like that person decided to do the bare minimum amount of work and the bare minimum expense.
They also need to be placed right, a lot of the ones I see the person just stuck them in some random spot and didn't try to place them where they are projected evenly onto the house.

Got a few of the ones from Home Depot
They work great with the right placement. We have actual lights and the projector. I can't see how anything about decorating for the Christmas holiday could be viewed as trashy, no matter what. And my 3 year old daughter loves them, so I'll put 50 of them up and meet anyone who disagrees with my decision at the local sonic.

i could of swore, on the commercial, it showed christmas objects being shown on the house, dancing objects, flickering dealios.
Instead, the neighbors house has red, green, and other spots on the yard and house. yippeeee
Different ones do different things. Some are like white snowflakes and they will be moving, some are big red and green spots that move, etc.

Been thinking about getting some for inside

I like the projectors with snowflakes and shite. The green and red laser dots look pretty lame.

I bought three of the star shower motion laser lights off of amazon for $30 each, and put them on different sides of my house. They work great and my two boys love them. They really think it's cool to turn the lights off in the house and watch the lasers move throughout the living room and kitchen.

I usually wrap my house in lights. I got a free projector and it's pretty cool. It's much easier but not the same. If you get two or three for higher concentration it's better.

lazy, poor, trashy, no one is impressed, waste of money, hang yourself.

I would put up zero lights before that lazy garbage.

Are these as powerful as an average laser pointer? If so, I'd hate it if a cat knocked it over and it piss off an airline pilot. I live near a military airfield.

So, The best use of these that I've seen is someone who had icicle lights across the house and wrapped trees.
Then had one of these pointed into their oak tree.

We have the red and green ones that move.
By themselves they would be pretty pitiful, but with other lights they go good.
We use them as kind of a background behind our other lights.
