I've been making my way through a list. Lew bottle everytime...

If you want top end then get some basil Hayden.

Knob Creek single barrel
Four roses single barrel

Then eagle rare range
Bullet as well

Then Jameson at the lower tier but still great

Edit: red breast top tier. Awesome. Can't miss. Pricey

both of those that you mention are damn good...I probably give woodford a slight edge of the two that you mention...

When you are ready to step up to the big leagues, check out the bourbon thread on the food board...

Not a huge whiskey drinker but i do have a couple bottles of Buffalo trace single oak project limited barrels. Kinda expensive though, 375ml for $60

Over rated.

If we're talking whiskey to drink unmixed, then it's scotch. Bourbon is for old fashioneds.

Now since we have that clear, get yourself a bottle of Oban or Lagavulin. You can thank me later.

Crown is good if you like your stuff blended...for me though, whatever it is, it's got to be minimum 12 year, single barrel and preferably small batch as well. Add a small amount of water, not ice, to bring out the character of your beverage. Cheers
