Not trying to win any races but also don't want to get passed by some chick walking her dog...What time is acceptable?

Under 10 would be great, but you'll be fine at 10-12.

8 to 8.5 is perfectly fine. Faster than most on the road

It's up to you if it is casual.

I'd say 10 minutes...

I think anything in the 8-9 min range is respectable...

It's important not to be so focused on pace that you end up wearing yourself out too quickly then get discouraged and eventually stop altogether.

8 1/2 to 10 minutes.

If you're running a 5k and averaging 7 1/2 minutes per mile or below you're doing better than 50% of the runners on the road.

i agree...i ran two miles today. The first was 9:02 and the next 9:35.

Again not trying to win any races or run like a did in college but I do need to lose about 15 pounds ha....I'm fine with anything under 10 but I was curious what the OT ballers thought

If you want to lose weight by cardio aim for time, not distance.

As you get used to running and can get to 45-60 minutes of continuous running comfortably, then focus on getting time down over a set distance such as a 5k in 25 minutes or less. You can also focus on wind sprints (60/90's).

That's a way, not the way.

Good luck brother.

Forget about pace

If that's your goal it's about actually getting out there 3-5 times per week and just doing it. Pace will take care of itself. Some days I'll roll out consecutive 8 min miles. Other days I feel like crap and manage a couple 10-11 min miles. The point is you still did it

You talking about 1 mile or a pace for an entire race?
