I mean, I'm no practicing Catholic. I give something up (or attempt to) in the same way I'd give something up for a new years resolution.....just a self betterment thing. But can anyone in any organized religion really say giving up something for lent is confusing, or not understandable in the grand scheme of religion, yet you can follow all the other random insignificant things done to worship in any and every religion

I'm a Christian and I still say lent is ridiculous. Giving up something for a time period for God should be between you and God and not because you are told to.
