What would have happened if the Titanic hadn't turned?

I'm asking this from a science/physics point of view, because I'm totally clueless.

As we know, the titanic turned too late and the iceberg scraped the shite out of the side of it and flooded the compartments. What would have happened if, while heading straight for it, the captain basically said "well, it's too late now to do anything" and just ran directly into it? Obviously, it would tear up the frick out of the front. But the front was curved to a point, which in my layman's eyes would seem like it would disperse the collision a little more evenly. Also, I don't know how fast ships travel but something that big can't be going THAT fast. Would it basically just kinda stop, almost like a wind up toy car running into a wall?

I realize this is probably a ridiculously stupid question, but I was just thinking about this for some reason.

The iceberg would have sunk(sank?) instead.

I'm assuming it wouldnt have been as bad of a result because they always make the titanic out to have been some tragic event that occurred because everything went just exactly wrong for the boat to sink. However that could just be part of making the story even more dramatic. So who knows.

My goal is to have 1 serious response for every 15 non-serious. So far so good.

It would have sunk front first and broken in two like it eventually did.

The ship had a poor design.

This! The ship was compartmentalized. A door would have been closed near the front end to stop the entire ship from flooding. Since it hit the side, it flooded thru several compartments and doors could not be closed in time.

He should have slammed full reverse and ordered all flood hatches to be closed.

According a google search, top speed for those ocean liners was around 23 knots (roughly 25 mph). The Titanic was likely not traveling at top speed at the time of impact, but I think it's safe to assume it was moving 18-20 mph.
It doesn't sound terribly fast, but when a 45,000 ton ship gets moving that fast, the dispersion of force won't matter a whole lot. The bow of the ship would've been destroyed. Likely the impact would've caused the ship to list, and possibly capsize.

If it would've stayed upright, it would've taken on a lot of water, but I'm not familiar enough with the safeguards from the "compartment" flooding to be able to safely say that it would stay afloat.

The Titanic was sunk by a German U boat. The iceberg is a coverup because they wanted to prevent WW1 from starting. It started anyway later.

I probably would be rich, instead my great grandfathers ex fiancee stole a big arse diamond from him and left him for some bum artist. He ended up broke and killed himself. Last I read the old bag threw that diamond in the ocean. I still hate her to this day.

I think it would have sank faster. Depends on lots of variables. Assuming it would have been a pretty square hit at 20ish knots, it would have probably crumpled like a beer can,
