What will happen to the poor, unskilled people when the robots come?

For now, one can argue that they fill a niche in society, to a degree. They are the fast food workers, the ditch diggers, landscapers, workers of menial jobs. You could argue that they have sone purpose.
In the past they would serve as fodder for wars, or labor for great construction projects. Now, they lounge away, unused, breeding and eating off the taxpayer dime.
And they demand more. More wages for less work. More benefits, more free stuff.
What happens when technology makes them obsolete? When there are no jobs to be had for those with no skills, no education, no value?
Will they rise up in neo-Luddite rage and smash the machines, their usurpers?
What happens when the spigot of free living runs dry?
Do you side with the robots, or the rabble?

The same thing that happens now, they will be on public assistance.

I love the fast food response to $15/hour....

The proles will never gain self awareness and rise up. The robots will trample them.

I'm more worried about tech replacing more talented people. Programs that replace analyst, engineer, etc.
The investment might not be worth it for a ditch digger

I would never eat anyone without a college degree.

The robots won't discriminate, they will place the poor alongside the rich in the Matrix.

Skynet will exterminate them

People have been saying this will happen any day now for about 150 years. Unskilled labor will always exist in one form or another.

Serious post: People seem to think that this is only a blue collar issue. The truth is that software will be replacing nearly all jobs soon. Engineers, doctors and (hopefully) the blood sucking lawyers.
There's just not going to be enough work to do to keep us all busy.

This is more of an existential issue than a political one. Existential board?

Then the state will deem you "Obsolete". If so, you will be executed.
As overpopulation grows, mandatory death will take place on your 65th birthday.
Things like dui, and other criminal charges will reduce this number. If you have 1 dui, your mandatory death will be at 60. So on and so on. All felonies are 10-15 years off. Regardless of time served.
Mandatory cremation.
