Will be up there the Friday prior to the LSU game? Any historic sites/fun things to do around there? Outdoor activities, things to do within an hour or so's drive. Will be driving in from Augusta.

Maybe the OBC will be doing a yoga lesson and the AFLAC chick will show up.

The Zoo was recently renovated. And if you walk to the botanical gardens there is a trail up there that leads to a historic Civil War location. I think it was where Sherman camped but I'm not sure. Be warned that it is a long walk

The State museum/confederate relic room are on the edge of the Vista. Haven't been in a while but enjoyed it last time I went.

Congaree National Park is about a 30 minute drive from downtown

There are rivers you can walk or kayak depending on the temp.

Heres a link that might help

Not really a huge charleston fan.....my wife's parents lived there for a couple years and was never that impressed with it. Already visited fort sumpter...which was about the highlight of the trips.

If you just have a day and want something outdoor to do, go visit Congaree National Park or Riverbanks Zoo.

There's a couple historic homes downtown, the Robert Mills House and the Hampton Preston Mansion.

The State Museum is decent.

Harbison State Forest has some decent trails.

You can walk Lake Murray Dam.

You can do some kayaking on the river.

Whatever you do, do it with a Rebel Flag shirt on.

Which is an extremely well-renowned zoo. You wouldn't think a small city like Cola would have such a nice one, but I think it was actually ranked in the top 5 in the nation a few years ago.

Never heard it spoken either, but it is a familiar way to type it.
