Not without looking to see whether Louis Farrakhan was around too.

Real racism is the forced subjugation of a racial group.

This is not the definition of racism by any reasonable standard, though it is certainly a form of racial oppression. It is usually justified by using racist thinking.

Under affirmative action laws, real racism happens mostly to whites in today's world.

Not sure how you can reach that conclusion, particularly considering your definition of racism.

I don't think anyone born after 1980 has seen real racism. From 1920-1979 (approximate), AA's were treated as second class citizens, but seen as human. The ones you gotta feel for were the pre 1920 AA's. They were seen as property, and treated as such.

I get called racist daily, usually by my ole lady.

I've just accepted it.

This, it's not rocket science.

It's not exclusive to black people.

It's not racist to use common sense.

Bottom line, real racism barely exists.

As explained here by Gavin.

I can only offer the red pill. I can't make anyone take it

Working in a bar, I see customers scream racist all the time. I've been called out on serving a white person before a black person before when the two approached the bar simultaneously.

When I made it to the black person they berated me for not taking their order first, and that clearly It was because I was racist.

I politely enlightened her to the fact that I served her second because she comes there 3 nights a week and never tips more than a dollar or two on what is usually a $30-$40 tab. Shitty tips aren't going to get you served any faster.

With approximately 80% of my clientele being black there's no fricking way I could be racist.

Eta: CSB I know, but this is just one example of pussys being overly sensitive and trying to create a problem where there is none.... Like BLM

I don't know what kind of answer you expect to get on here because what you're asking can't be answered. 5%? 10.9%?

I suspect it was just a rhetorical device so that you can have your beliefs on racism reinforced.

It's easier to point the finger of racism rather than the personal responsibility one.

I use to ponder things like this as well. Now I truly do not care. I am not racist and I have moved past... way past giving a crap if someone thinks I am.

Not sure I agree with that statement, I've seen it first hand with people I know or have associated with. Irrational thinking in people who are otherwise rational. Mostly people from my parents generation (I'm a 54 year old whit guy FTR). I know someone who has not boted in the presidential election the last 2 times because he would not vote for a Republican and would not vote for a black man.

I do think institutional racism is nearly nonexistent and that things are almost immeasurably better than when I was a child.

Part of the issue with addressing these issues in today's world is the proclivity for hyperbole that the 24 hour news cycle and social media have exacerbated and the outcome bias that both sides seem to apply to any situation.

It's really hard to tell. People have used it incorrectly so much that the word barely carries any meaning anymore.

When I did it in my head it turned out to be 69.69% but on the calculator it was 80.085 %.

Couldn't agree more. One of the pitfalls of the constant use of hyperbole in the struggle to shape public opinion by our so called leaders and journalists.

That's a racist statement. But we can look past the fact southern states have higher percentages of minorities than northern ones.

I can assure you these southern white dudes know far more about race relations than the snowflakes in Seattle or San Francisco.

I did my student teaching at Aberdeen, Mississippi (loved it, great band program) and I never got gas in town at night. In fact, one of the high school teachers told me not to drive down 45 at night, but I think that was excessive. I just wouldn't stop at either of the gas stations.
