Back when I was just out of college, working the midnight-6am shift at some shitty radio station felt awesome.

After a while, making minimum wage got fricking old.

Senior year of high school my brother hooked me up with the owner of the French Loaf in Houma. Cut the grass at the restaurant, his mom's house, and his house. Paid me $150/wk and I often knocked out all 3 in 1 day. Free po-boys and drinks at the restaurant, free drinks and beer at his house. Lots of free time and always had cash in my pocket.

ETA: pay was cash under the table

Worked at a local liquor store sophomore summer of college.

It was usually just me and another guy I went to high school with. Awesome job, just stayed fricked up for three straight months.

People would play $50 scratch offs one at a time. So after they came and got a few in a row and didn't win shite, we'd wait for them to go back to their car to keep scratching and then we'd take the next one, which was usually the winner, worth about $500. We got caught once and I thought we may get shot, the lady was like "Oh hell no! Where's ticket 274? I got 273 and 275, and ain't nobody been in here!" No regerts.

Late teens, early twenties, before wising up, I worked for a dirt contruction company
Drove a turned up JD4840 wirh 2 ten yard dirt buckets. In the right dirt I could dig in and walk a wheelie with the tractor, for a ways. 50 yards or more
Two times, I got buried and had a D-8 push me out. When I popped the clutch, the tractor stood straight up until I clutched. shite my pants.
Off the clutch and it fell. Horriffying but cool af at the same time

Working at Blue Bayou Water Park as a lifeguard in the 90's. Pay sure sucked, but didn't care. I was drowning in pussy.

Worked at a hardware store through college. Best job ever.

Every kid should have to work at a hardware store.

When in early high school I worked at a dairy. The work was grueling and getting up at 2 AM every morning made it even worse....but I really enjoyed working with the cattle and enjoyed the people that I worked with a lot as well.

Summer camp counselor when I was in college. It was a sleep away camp in New York, and it was an absolute blast. The money was shite, but spending summers in upstate New York was a load of fun.

I used to answer phones for a funeral home downtown. Pay was shite, but it was quiet as hell. Got to do a lot of reading at that job - read all of the Aubrey-Maturin books, all of the Harry Potter books (up to that point), all of the Dan Brown books (up to that point), and put a pretty good dent into John Grisham's and Lee Child's books.

I was a Real Estate Photographer. I had that job so organized that I could do it in 4 days and they allotted 8 days. The only time I had to go into the office was to pick up work and drop off work. It didn't pay well but not having to be in the office was great.

During my last year in college, I interned with the National Weather Service in Baton Rouge. I loved working with the people and learning the ins and outs of forecasting and weather observing. I was one of several voices of the NOAA Weather Radio in BR. Did some live broadcasts over the Baton Rouge Cable channels.

So you were one of those a-hole voices that interrupted my weed and alcohol fueled binge watching of South Park episodes?

How much tips did you get per night on average at the belle?

And what percentage of other coacktail waitresses would you classify as sloots?

Depended on what my section was. We rotated sections.

Table areas....I could make on average $200 on up a night. My best night ever I walked out with $1600.

As for the other girls....most were just normal college girls working while in school. A few were pretty slutty though. A couple girls left the Belle to go strip iirc.

Slot areas (especially the crappy third floor)...I was happy to walk out with $100.
