What kind of music did college bars play when you were in school?

These days it's mostly rap and 80s throwbacks. What was most common in the 90s, 80s, 70s, 60s, etc.?

The early 2000s must have been a really weird time to be in college.

Cellphones and the internet starting to become mainstream changed a lot.
