We are vacationing at a cabin in Southeast Louisiana and noticed this huge monster creeping around the windowsill the other night. I sprayed it with mosquito repellent and set that b*tch on fire and felt better.
Then I started looking around more with a flashlight and there are THOUSANDS of them everywhere! All over the walls, balcony and the rails to the pier. At least they are only out at night and none are in the cabin. I tried looking it up and think it's a triangulosa steadota (cobweb spider) but am not 100% certain. I don't think they are dangerous.
Does OT know what it is?
Edit: I sprayed one with Off and watched it die under a plastic cup got slightly better pics, would've been better if I had the guts to take the cup off after it died.
Edit: I confirmed with the park ranger they are harmless furrow orb weavers. There are lots of pics of them online and it's definitely a match.

It's possibly a brown widow but it might be a Common House Spider, hard to tell with the picture taken via potato.
Brown widows have pretty distinctive egg sacs, you should be able to find some around.
The type you listed have fluffy balls with smaller balls inside and the common house spider has a "firmer" looking ball.

Unless you see an hourglass on the bottom, it's a false widow
ETA:
Ok maybe false widow is not the correct term. But I have seen many spiders in my garage that look like widows but dont have the hourglass underneath. Brown widows do have the hourglass:

Well shite. Looks like everyone thinks brown widow. It does resemble that and the triangulosa spider.
I want to set the got damn cabin on fire now. They are only outside and only at night. Believe me, I've checked everywhere.
I'm going to kill another one tonight and get a better pic in good light. When I took those I was pretty drunk.
