They say prostitution is not a victimless crime. I guess that makes the hooker a victim. In many cases that is true. Especially when the hooker is being forced to turn tricks by a pimp. In that case the hooker is being forced to work as a sex slave. Not all hookers are victims. Some are willingly working as a prostitute. Regardless I find it difficult to make a case that they are criminals. And should calling a prostitute be a fireable offense?

As long as they are doing it of their own free will, it shouldn't be a crime.

Your agenda is transparent. Hugh Freeze presented himself as a good christian man and then acts the opposite. I feel absolutely no pity for him with the constant, prideful outright lies.

I can take on 3, maybe 4 hookers if I have an 8 ball.

See the thing is that a hooker will have sex with you for money. So if you have money and want to have sex, it's a pretty good thing that she's a hooker.

I think prostitution should be illegal. A few cases are honest, voluntary work....but most cases are women forced at a young age into a lifestyle they eventually have zero control over and are a slave to the pimp. Add into that the sex trade business.

It's technically an illegal business transaction.

Hookers provide a service (albeit illegal one) to the public.

It is a victim less crime.

It gets to be a slippery slope (probably an unfortunate description). I agree with the premise that a woman should be able to charge for sex if she wants, but that brings up some 2nd order consequences:
- What if she acquires an STD and doesn't tell "clients" about it if they wish to pay more to go unprotected? Can she be prosecuted for knowingly exposing them?
- Along those same lines if she catches an STD and being a prostitute is her occupation is she now on tax-payer subsidized disability?

If we thought about it we could come up with other issues: Could they be forced to unionize? Would fees be standardized? Are there certain acts that the governing body would prohibit? If so, how is that policed? All of those reasons are why I think it probably shouldn't be too policed but it shouldn't be legalized...

That's not going to look good on her Yelp reviews.

3-4 hookers will Hoover through an 8-ball in an hour

You need to get 4 and a baby for a good night.

how fricking stupid.... I mean actions have consequences. If someone pays for a hooker and goes bareback, they get all the AIDS coming their way.

When hookers are outlawed, only outlaws will have hookers.

What would the prostitution business look like if it was legalized and legitimate businesses sprung up?

Would it reduce the number of women forced to do it?

Would it clean up the streets?

How would legalization affect it?

Local news here makes it sound like all in Houston are human trafficking and sex slave victims. Don't know how true all of that is. Meaning the extent. Not questioning it's existence.

In that case, the crime is not prostitution but kidnapping, false imprisonment, etc.

Agreed. They should be allowed to have sex with anyone they want (who consents) for any reason they want, including money.

Probably not, but I would consider it about like smoking weed. Neither should be a crime even though neither is a particularly wise choice, however, both are illegal in most places. Players get kicked off of teams for smoking weed and I wouldn't be surprised if a coach got fired if he was caught doing it, so firing a coach for calling a hooker is at least consistent with that, even if misguided.

I don't think Freeze's firing was solely because of calling hookers, though.
