What is this ship? UPDATE w/Seaplane Salvaged at FloraBama pg.4

What kind of ship is this?

Out in the gulf, thinking it's an oil collection ship. It raises up on the 3 posts at night then lowers during the day.

Jack up. They have alot of different uses. When we'd be dismantling another platform we would use these to get on the side of it.

Does it take on oil from smaller vessels out skimming?

Jack up work over rig. Vessel elevates via the legs to access casing below.

Doesn't loo big enough to be a drilling rig but tough to tell the scale from such a long shot.

That's a liftboat. Not a jackup. Prolly one of Aries Marine's.

Pretty sure that is one of Bo's because of white paint on the end of the posts. But, hell, I been wrong before.

Its a regular ole lift boat, they're used for all types of shite in the O&G industry.
