What is the right age to have your first kid?

Is there an appropriate age for men? Is there an appropriate age for women? Seems like people are having kids later and later these days compared to about a generation or two ago. It used to be be that women were done having kids by the time they turned 30, but now it is not uncommon for women to have their first kid past 30. Thoughts?

We said we would have our kids when we could afford them.
That turned out to be 30. We were just financially comfortable enough at that point.

Age not so much, stability is a must imo

There really isn't a right time for men so long as you can support the child. For women, though, probably mid 20's.

Had my first at 30. Soon as you can afford to raise them is really the right answer though

There's no single answer. When you are mature enough to understand what having a child entails, and are financially stable enough to provide adequately for a family. That comes at different ages for different people.

Never. Never is the appropriate age for a good 80% of the U.S. adult population.

probably should say in a stable relationship on top of being financially secure

I had my first one at 14

At least 30 for me, so that would put my wife at 27. It really depends upon stability, my wife won't finish school until she's 26.
Our dads were done having kids by the time they were 28 and 26 and our moms 27 and 23. So we'll start having kids around or after our parents were done having kids.

When you are financially stable IMO. Trend is to delay children to establish education /career first.

Late 20's early 30's. Having children is a young person's game.

Late 20's - early 30's. I mean, it really doesn't matter. You're gonna have days you wish you waited longer and days you wish you'd have had one earlier.

Really? You think that is the appropriate age for both men and women? You know kids cost of lot of money right? And most 25 years olds I don't think are that financially stable yet to start families (IMHO).
