Sucks for the kids, imo. Unless you live in Alabama, it's a lot easier to bang the teachers if you go to an actual school.

I know 3 families that are currently homeschooling. All parents are super religious. Two families have 5 children, one has 6. The parents don't believe in vaccines or evolution. It's a recipe for disaster.

Wife and I homeschooled all 3 of our kids, social issues with my kids, no issues. They did more outside the home than I ever did in school. One graduated LSU, other 2 went straight into the work force. All have been well adjusted.

Homeschool parents do a good bit to socialize their kids, but the parents pick the friends and constantly supervise the socialization.

Homeschooling is great if done correctly.
Much worse is hands off parents who dump their kids into shitty schools and dont stay involved in their lives. These kids are the ones that really suck.

How another family decides to educate their children is no concern of mine, but at least mine will not be socially challenged...

My daughter home schools, my granddaughter is 15, taking two cours s in college. She scored in the 82 percentile of those who took the college entrance exam

I wish every child could home school. One on one, free to travel anytime, no 5 hours of homework, I could go on and on

They participate in scouts, music, sports. Since they pay taxes they can play for a public high school as well

Jeaux. You should know what you are talking about before speaking. Home school groups meet once a week for socializing, they are taught by parents, take art and other activities,
. Home school groups have dances, they participate in scouting, and sports. Please read up on home schools.
Over 83%!of home schoolers attend college with some sort of scholarships

Hey Rummel

You should learn about how much socializing home school kids do. As much as your kids, maybe more

I'm guessing that study of the English language was somewhat lacking in your homeschooling experience.

How do you know, there is no shortage of introverts and socially inept students in public and private schools.

Because we know a couple of families that home school, and they tell us that they struggle to find ways to have their kids get the same socialization that other kids get that go to traditional schools.

Also, because there have been numerous studies that have tackled the shortcomings of home schooling in this specific area. This is known. Has home schooling gotten better with it over the years...sure, but to say they get the same socialization, or more, is just inaccurate...as a whole. Might some get more, sure.

Seriously. I'd want to shelter my kids away from those that want to act like thugs. I do not have kids but I always said I'd like them to go to a school that does a ridiculous amount of field trips. Getting out and experiencing different things is the way to go imo
