There were several daughters, but yes. I think she and my GF were classmates.

I remember when the ABW basketball coach backed their bus into the school at Siliman. We were on our bus just watching and waiting for the boom.

Does anyone remember the name of that bar somewhere near downtown, seemed like the band Atchafalaya played there a lot.
It wasn't on the main drag (US 190), it was a few blocks to the south.

I am indebted to the OT Board. I'm in Opelousas on business and after reading this thread, went to Joe's Sandwich Shop for lunch.
Today's plate lunch was pork roast served over rice with black eyed peas and cornbread. IT WAS DELICIOUS!
You missed out on their best dish.
Fried chicken.

That sounds right. I used to drink there with an aircraft mechanic from Pennsylvania. He got fired and was replaced by a guy connected to Barry Seal who made trips to Mena, Arkansas. Draw your own conclusions.

yes, on Prayer House Rd. About a half mile from my house on same road.
If you live on Prayer House Rd. I bet you know my godmother.
Her 17 year old daughter was the one killed in the driveway about 2 weeks ago by the falling tree.

See a lot of familiar names and places in here. Guarantee some of yall probably know my grandpa or my dad and his younger twin brothers.
Dad graduated from OHS in 72 I believe. Was quarterback and pitcher. Played at USL and Northwestern.
My family has been in Opelousas for a long time. Uncles and cousins still live there

Im sure I've heard it, but no. I can't recall...
Now that I'm thinking about it, I KNOW I've heard it before

Worm Rd. The Vidrine family has sold enormous nightcrawlers for years. Live there.
Posted on 6/25/15 at 9:42 pm to dwr353
Yes, bought those worms in those white cartons MANY times.
