What happened to the house on E. Lakeshore and Ferndale?

I drove by there the other day and it was being demolished.
I know it was for sale for a long time. Did it get sold, or is there a different story?

Somebody bought it and is building a new home.. Really big tear down project.. The house was so odd and needed a ton of work but damn these people payed a shite ton for a lot.

I have no idea because I don't live in BR but that was my neighborhood as a kid.
There used to be a little steel pier in that cove I would launch my pirogue from.
