i don't know why, but I tend to think people who say "Thanks" is just throwing a pity thank you just for the sake of being polite. Do you guys like to be/feel appreciated for certain things you do?

Give thanks today, for you were born knowing how to spell the word.

I was taught Thank you is more polite than thanks. I was raised to be racist though.

I never look for a Thank You. I don't do things for praise from others, I do it because it is the right thing to do.

Um. Kinda depends on the act being thanked for.

I always look someone in the eye and say Thank You. And often times follow with "I appreciate it"

I generally drop a, "Thank you, Sir!" regardless of who it is... unless it's a girl.. then it's "Thanks..."

Expecting someone to show gratitude for something you've done will often leave you disappointed. I thank my co-workers/strangers any time it is deserved, but never expect anything in return. Feels good when someone recognizes your acts though.

Every act you do is intended to make you feel good, especially if you self righteously don't want to receive any thanks for it.
