What do you guys do about depression?

I just feel like life is kinda pointless. Get up, work, come home, repeat.
I got money. A family. But I'm still just "meh, what the point of it all?" Nothing excites me anymore. LSU football I don't care about it. Movies. Travel. Nothing. I'm just existing. Like a copy of a copy of a copy. This is my life and its passing me one second at a time and I just don't care.
I used to say I want to be the man God wants me to be to which a friend just told me "get out of his way". But I don't even care about that anymore.
Anybody else ever feel like this. If so, what did you do?

LexaPro--the sooner the better. You don't sound too bad off but you're not enjoying life. That 's the kind of depression can lead to major depression. Get some help.

Find something you like to do. For me, excersize keeps me sane. Also, try smoking weed. It's not the gateway to hell most religious nuts try to convince you and it's much healthier than alcohol, pills, and anti-depressants..

Get to a church. It's very satisfying.

Drink. Work. Play with my kids. Cook. Sex. Games.
Keep the demons at bay however I can.
It's when there's nothing that they scream the loudest.

Sounds like you need to break the routine and go on an adventure.
Where's somewhere you've always wanted to go?
Go do it and find some newness in your life

Live. And hope it gets better.
It's all you can do.

My doctor put me on Prozac but it seems to have made things worse.
I don't even get joy from trolling anymore. Y'all gain there I guess.

Nothing cures depression like living like a slave to some invisible sky fairy with promises of endless suffering

You've fallen into a trap. You need to find something to do. Some kind of hobby. You also should think about the people that depend on you and realize that you mean something to them. I wish you well. Depression sucks and you don't have to live with it.

Seek professional help. Don't screw around with it. Don't sit there and not do anything.
Don't turn to bad habits to pull yourself out. It will only make it worse.
Get out of the house. And not just for work. Change your scenery. Every day. This will help a lot. Do some things you wouldn't ordinarily do, to break the cycle of routine, daily.

I went and talked to a Shrink. It's amazing how just having someone that you don't know listen to your problems and give you an unbiased opinion can help. Then I found the job that I know I'm meant to be at. I've been here 2 1/2 years and still don't feel like I have to go to work. It's fun and I enjoy what I do. That helped my outlook on life a lot. There wasn't much worse for my depression than being at a job that I completely despised.

When I feel myself slipping into that train of thought I go outside and run or walk, call friends to chat, call fam.

Nothing cures depression like the belief that we are the only living things on a planet surrounded for trillions of miles of bitter cold, oxygen-free space, with only about 2 miles of breathable air that seperates us from instant death - all in the name of some strange accident caused by happenstance a billion years ago...wow, my depression has immediately disappeared, thanks!

Need to make Jesus the focal point of your life. Read your bible. Be thankful. Serve others less fortunate.
