I was having a few brews recently and started to have one of those moments of deep thought . Another thread just reminded me.

If we could rid the world of murder of course we would.
If we could cure cancer of course we would.

....right? If we did where would that leave us? It would save so many lives that does the population get out of control? I'm not saying that we can solve those 2 things and we aren't. I'm just imagining a world in which we fix all of the things that we would like to see disappear.

Most people have a hard time figuring out what to do with their own lives but don't see a problem dictating what the entire human race should do.

The earth will take care of population. If it gets to big, something will happen to balance it out.

Pregnancy license, you have to pay a fee for 6 months of fertility. You must apply before you get pregnant, otherwise unlawful pregnancy and baby aborted.

If I discovered the cure for cancer I would agree to make it free for the entire country... in return I would want one worthless piece of shite euthanized for every one useful person saved.

Seems like a fair trade IMO

It would always fail.

Once the population got to a certain size, some type of disease, famine, war, etc would take over and reduce the population.

Then we would build it back over and repeat as necessary.

We are meant to die.

If you stop paying poor people to have kids, this problem takes care of itself. People will naturally, without even realizing it, have no more children than they can afford to raise. Population growth will naturally level out at less than the carrying capacity or rise with new innivations allowing for more available resources. The free market would basically govern population growth.

We could get rid of all the bums that live off the public trough, taking taxpayer money and other things that do not belong to them. They feel like they are entitled to special treatment and want rules geared toward enriching them and their ilk.

Oh wait, we kind of need Congress.

That would take care of itself if we would quit paying people to have children that really can't afford it. The "welfare state" is an anchor that will eventually pull us all under.

I wonder this as well sometimes. We put so much time and money into extending human lives. How beneficial is that, really?

We don't have a population problem in the US as a whole.
Yes the dumbasses are having more kids than the responsible people, but on a pure numbers basis, we aren't close to having an issue

I feel like the government shouldn't reward poor people for having more kids.
