Dog-sledding or snowmobiling. We went dog-sledding when we were little. It was pretty damn fun. All ages were there.

Flaunt around Breck like you are super new money and cool. Buy Cowboy hats and boots, drink New Belgium beers, and talk about how Colorado they are, when they aren't...Works for all the frickers that come to Jackson, WY every winter

Breckenridge is an awesome little ski town that reminds me of a Dickens Village. There are tons of little shopping areas; you can walk around and take in the sites; and there are usually some cool ice sculptures to check out. Colorado has some good micro brews, so I would also suggest boozing.

my wife and I just got back from there yesterday. We didn't ski, we hung out around town and popped into some bars and restaurants. We did a little sledding at the sled park. We went to the spa at a resort on peak 7 for massages. Drank a little and checked out some of the local Colorado "herbal" treats.

I went there for a week and went snowmobiling the first day and had so much fun I didn't even hit the slopes once, just snowmobiled like 6 hours a day. We rented and ripped the forest on trails with jumps and shite, plus the place we got them form had an oval race track that we went nuts on. So fricking fun!

ETA: Obviously they won't be doing that but they do a guided tour. We did one at first and they had 2 guides, one for a fast group and one for the slow group. It was about 10 years ago though and I don't remember the name of the place.

Getting hurt Ice skating vs getting hurt downhill skiing is totally different. I didn't know how active the grandma was, but I feel much safer going slow speeds on a horizontal surface than going downhill on skis
