What a great rebuttal. I'll be sure to take you seriously in every thread on the subject.

Domestic trucks for starters.

So buying a new domestic truck and financing is a better money move than buying a reasonably priced, reliable used vehicle?

In certain scenarios, yes. Don't think for a second I don't notice you not comparing apples to apples.

ETA: I never claimed buying new as some universal truth for all instances, which will be the next thing you guys claim I said.

In what scenario is it more fiscally prudent to do so?

I swear you could jump into a thread about puppies and turn it into a stupid debate that no one was trying to have in the first place.

It's truly a gift.

Go price some late model used trucks still under warranty and then compare them to buying new after all incentives.

Don't for get that the new one will always hold more value than the older one while you're comparing them.

Let's see if you can ever actually use that term correctly while we're at it.

Please tell me how it was incorrect, so I'll know for future reference.

You're not arguing the depreciation curve is consistent, are you? "Value" is meaningless here - Delta Value is the key metric here.

You said, "anti new car folks" or equivalent as a pejorative like 3 times in the thread before I responded. You dared us to say something.

Nope, but you're the guy that threw an arbitrary time line of every 3-5 years on the scenario.

Not over 3-5 years only it isn't.
