How does that ruin a friendship? You let the jelly get the best of you?

My best friend has become a far right ring religious guy. Everything is anti gay, get off my lawn, you're going to hell if you drink or cuss.

Friends that borrow money and either fail to pay it back or make excuses as to why they can't pay the money back.

My wife lost her best friend of 20+ years over a medical diagnosis.
My wife was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm in 2012. Her best friend is a neurologist but not a neurosurgeon. She lives on the east coast. We researched and found Dr Frank Cullichia in New Orleans. He is a renowned neurosurgeon that was the head of the neurosurgery dept at LSU Med .
His recommendation was to repair her aneurysm using a coil or clipping. My wife's friend wanted to see the scan and she disagreed with his recommendation. We elected to have the surgery and she did fine with few complications. Her friend never called, texted, or reached out in any other way. She passed along through her mother that she was highly insulted that we went against her recommendation. I would have never thought she would be like that but live and learn I guess.

What a bitch. Any respectful human being would have kept your wife in their thoughts and wished for a speedy and successful recovery.

Good riddance. What a shitty friend. For her to choose her ego over your wife's life/well-being is probably worst I've heard in this thread so far. Goes to show you that women have no cap on their emotions. And I'm sure your wife's friend has justified it in her mind and is done with it.

It's been 4.5 years since all that . I'm guessing she is fine with it. I always assumed they were inseparable. Ive always wondered how she reacts when a patient wants a second opinion.

Don't know what we did to them, but our entire friends' group, six other families, vacationed together, spent every weekend before our kids were in high school at the swim club, grilling, smoking cigars, or watching football at different places. All through Katrina, helped the one family that lost it all.

They all went on radio silence the last semester of our kids' senior year AND planned a group party for the kids' graduation. Didn't tell us a word for five months. Someone let it slip that they were having the party without us, oh, but they planned to invite us.....

They all had a verbatim cover story planned for when we called them out.

Sounds more like the problem was a slut for a girlfriend.

Never understood this mentality. Sounds like the problem was both of them. If a person isn't a good enough friend to take a pass on screwing your girlfriend (assuming it wasn't just some chick but an actual girlfriend), they're not really your friend and will screw you in other ways at some point, probably involving money.

I lived the party life pretty hard when I was younger and for years made excuse after excuse to explain away certain friends' lowlife behavior. But there comes a point where a thief is a thief regardless of whether they're stealing from you personally. The behavior of your friends is a reflection of your own character.

Dude was a shitty roommate, and we drifted, but were still close-ish for years afterwards... until he threatened to stab me with a screwdriver for telling him he would not hit his wife in a drunken fit. He told me that as soon as I left he was going to start in on her. I told him I would turn around and come back and beat the shite out of him if that happened. Dude was bipolar af.

They are now divorced. Haven't seen him in 4 or 5 years.
