Looking for weekend road trip ideas. We are looking for somewhere different. So no Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Nola, Lafayette, etc.

We are looking somewhere up to 8 hour range. We were thinking Oklahoma City or little rock. Looking for somewhere with a variety of things to do, fun bars, and good food. Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA!

You'd be a damn fool to drive 8 hours to go to gulf shores.

Padre >>>>>>>> Gulf Shores and its a hell of a lot closer.

OKC isn't exactly a tourist destination, but it would be a pretty good place for a weekend. Visit the bombing memorial (very moving). Spend lots of time in the bars and restaurants in Bricktown. Take in a Thunder game....

I might sound weird but I want to go to the crater of diamond park. Mine some diamonds. I think hot springs Arkansas is the closest city. That or Shreveport
