I've been to enough weddings here in the South & a collection around the country. But have realized recently that some weddings do not have the "Money Dance". Is this more of a regional thing or more of a class thing?

Class. I refused to allow the reception hall or anyone else to start this shite at my wedding.

It's both.

I've seen them all over Louisiana. Some people do it, some don't. @people who think they are "too classy" to have a money dance.

Class. I have never been to a single wedding that had that trashy dance as part of it. For that, I am extremely grateful.

Lighten up and have some fun, damn. Ive been to lower class and upper class weddings in LA and it's happened at all of them. The reception is about having fun and celebrating

I would have been embarrassed if this had been done at my wedding.

It's a tacky thing- quite possibly the most awkward and tacky thing I've ever seen.

And for those defending it- where else do you pin money on a woman? I rest my case.

I like how the Northeast does it. Everyone shows up with money in an envelope. It was like a mafia wedding.

I've only heard about them but evidently the bride and groom just dance (in normal fashion) and you toss money on the floor? This is my understanding- it's a trashy ( yet labeled as fun) way to ask for money

Edit: looks like I was off on how it goes. Doesn't make it any less tacky or trashy. Keep downvoting, trash.

It should be more of an age thing IMO.

College grads just starting out? Sure, why not?

27 year olds who've been living together for a year? GTFO.
