Weber Genesis grill buyer FYI

Don't be dumb and pay $799 for the e330 or $699 for the e310 at Lowe's or home depot.
Pay $50 more for either and get it at true value hardware because the same models have stainless flavorizers and stainless grates which will last you way longer than the enamel cast iron grates.
If you purchased the grates and flavorizers separately you'd be looking at close to $250.

Flavorizor bar and grate material are like comparing apples and oranges. For grates, cast iron grates hold heat longer, and will last much longer if taken care of.
I've had my grill with cast iron grates for 10 years. I've only had to replace the flavorizor bars once.
ETA: Weber Genisis (my grill)

I always suspect big box stores get their suppliers to cheapen up the products.

The model with the stainless steel grates is the Genesis Premium. It's EP330 and EP310. Also you can get the S330 or S310 which is the same grill with a stainless steel body instead of enamel.

I've had mine for two years and the tubes where the flames come from look horrible, probably need replacing

I've got a Spirit e310 that I got from Home Depot 6 years ago. It was $499 and I had a 10% lowes coupon, so I paid $450.
Hands down the best grill I have ever owned. I used to buy the $200 ones and get a new one each year. I just this year bought new flavorizer bars from Amazon, cost me $40. Great grill.

I swear I think you sit there hitting refresh all day long everyday just so you can be the first reply in each thread. It's always so witty too.

quote:did not know that. I knew there was the s330 for $949 that is sink stainless but didn't realize you could get the enamel version with stainless parts or cast iron.
The model with the stainless steel grates is the Genesis Premium. It's EP330 and EP310.
So
e300 enamel series cast iron grates
ep300 enamel series with stainless grates
s300 stainless series all around

Cast Iron grates are worth every penny...

I had to replace mine after a couple years of heavy use. Call Weber and they'll send you some new ones for free. I think my warranty covers them for five years.

I've posted 3 times today. I'm not really on this site much anymore.

I HAD the S300 with cast iron grates, not stainless. It was a gift so I can't complain.

Just in case you're wondering, since your sign up date, you have averaged just under 44 posts per day, total .. since 5/1/15, you have only posted 11 times a day .. mathematically, you have slowed down ..

Here's a lesson I learned with my Weber: put it together yourself. The kid at Lowe's (or wherever) will not take the same care. I had to tear mine apart because it kept catching on fire due to loose propane lines.

there's a guy on E-Bay that sells after-market flavorizer bars. He uses heavier gage stainless steel than Weber, perfect fit.
Search for seller ID rcplanebuyer.

Love my Spirit and Weber's customer service. Mine is right under 5 years old and they just sent me brand new stainless grates, flavorizer bars and burner tubes under warranty.
