Military thing, isn't it?

It actually makes more sense if you think about it. I know some runners do it.

People do it so they can check the time without being obvious/rude.

My buddy has done this ever since he got back from basic training

I think he said he could check his watch more easily while he was running

Always heard it was a military thing. You can see the time on your wrist while you have your gun up in position as the inside of your wrist is facing you.

I think it increases the chances of scratching the face.

Also, it doesn't allow you to show off your quality time piece.

I do not approve it.

yeah military and medical I get.

I have no idea why some random joe would do it. I don't even get the running angle. If you're actually RUNNING I don't see how having it on the inside instead of outward facing is easier to read while in motion.

It's a conservation of movement/safety thing.

Imagine a sharp instrument in your hand, check the time like it's on the back of your hand. Where's the instrument? At you and/or the patient. Check the inside of your wrist away from you and the patient.

Military adds in concealment. As checking a display on the inside of your wrist is more easily hidden.

It's an old thing, you young whippersnapper!

When I was using both hands to adjust my Norden bombsight over Nazi Germany, there was no wrist flicking time while in the middle of a hellfire hail of flak, fire, blood and death. I sure as shite didn't want to make a second pass!

Try not to get so worked up about things you don't understand, boy!

It actually is a pretty efficient way to wear it.

I wear mine the old fashion way with the face outside but I do see the efficiency behind inside

You just hold the inside of you arm up mid motion.

Outside you lift the elbow, hold up, and roll the arm.

It's great if you want a scratched up face.
