so......my father was diagnosed with cancer a year ago. it was everywhere. most importantly, it was in the liver and bone. it's been eating away at his bones and the pain has been unbearable. so....he's been doing chemo and it apparently hasn't been working because his PSA levels continue to rise.

5 weeks ago, he started taking cannabis oil and miraculously, the unbearable pain has subsided and he is experiencing no pain at all now. lol. nevertheless........he goes to NOLA on Wednesday to check the PSA level and see if his "chemo" is working.

can't wait.

There is no reason to ban cannabis and cannabis oil, especially for medical purposes. The evidence of its benefit is undeniable.

Glad it is helping his suffering

0% chance it is causing his disease to stop progressing though

I agree, prescribed by legitimate doctors as a tool to aid the sick it is a good thing.

he'll never know. the up'd his chemo dosage last time to stop the psa from rising at a rapid pace. this is about the same time he started with the oil. so......if the psa is down, was it the oil or chemo? poor thing will never know.

If the PSA is down its because of chemo

What will Wednesday tell you about the effects of cannabis? It's not supposed to cure cancer. It's supposed to treat the pain, and it's apparently already done that.

And glad to see his pain is being relieved. I hope the chemo treatment is helping. Good luck to him and your family.

all I know is that if the psa levels have gone down, then I don't care if it's the chemo or the cannabis. all I care about is seeing his face light up with "hope".

Where did you get the oil?

Only the real oil with THC in it has been shown to help. So unless you made your own, the oil has no THC in it. You can't buy oil with THC in it in Louisiana IIRC. We looked into it a little when the chemo stopped working for my dad but he just decided to enjoy the time he had left at that point.

I am very sorry he and your family are going through this. Also, I think it's wonderful that the oil has made his pain manageable.

Having said that, it has NOTHING to do with altering the disease process. It is simply to manage the pain. Y'all are very lucky it is working for that.

I hope your father continues to get better!

I lost my father to brain cancer 12 years ago. I wish we would have known about the cannabis oil so he could have given it a try.

cannabinoids are symptoms treaters just like opiods
but they are far safer for you physically and spiritually

OPs dad is enjoying relief from symptoms thru cannabis not cure

THC changed my wife's reality from near invalid to symptom free in treating an immunity disorder without toxic chemistry and attendant side effects. Her disease is incurable but her symptoms are now easily controlled and that's a fact
