Re: OT Make a Wish

One of my 2k17 YOLO resolutions is to get into wakesurfing. I grew up in Florida on the beach and surfed a good bit in high school and when I briefly moved back after school. I miss it dearly.

I have been watching wakesurfing from a distance (interweb videos) for a while now and I really want to do it. I don't have a clue where to start. Is there a local club where I can begin to look into it?

If anyone has a boat and wants to get into it, I'm your huckleberry

You should surf the wave in the miss river behind a grain freight ship

Intercostal waterway in Brusly. There is a boat launch by the miss river lock (close to i10 bridge)

We go wake boarding and wake surfing there all the time. Water is generally calm with light shipping traffic

Won't go again until April tho

I heard people used to do in the LSU lakes. They would use a winch system though not a boat.

If you are an LSU student, look up LSU Wake

There's a wakeboarding facility in Lafayette with ramps and rails

Wake surfing is fun. It's best to surf behind a boat with a baffle system.

frick you. If you have a boat I'll drag you behind it or you can take your arse to Bennett's (if they're still open).

Check out Bennet's ski school just north of Baton Rouge.

sigma chi use to do laidback there.

I am not sure how they operate but it's worth a look.
