Has anyone actually had the modification done to their vehicle? I went in today to have the modification done per my appointment and they claimed that they cannot do the work work due to a faulty "DPF" and EGR"

I'm not fully understanding why VW cannot complete something that they are requiring me to complete to continue to drive my car. This modification is also preventing me from receiving my payment settlement that VW owes me.

Is anyone familiar with this?

5 inch turbo back straight pipe exhaust with a DPF delete kit and an 8 inch tip. Don't forget the truck nuts.

I am kinda understanding what these parts do. I am however not understanding why they cannot complete their end of the deal. What stance do I have here to force them to complete it?

Threaten to notify the EPA. Isn't that the agency that just handed them their arse?

I do think that it was a scheme to get me to trade the car in and do farther business with them.

Immediately after giving me this crap that they cannot complete my modifications the "sales manager" came tell me that they can give me a good deal on trade in.

What is this VW attorney line you speak of?

I wasn't in the position to do that, I like the vehicle and the mileage I receive. I drive about 40k miles a year so.. it has been a good car and has no issues to date.

You can find it on the vw claims website I’m pretty sure. Is the check engine light on?

It is on. I am told that it is because of this DPF and EGR

Tell them they can pay to fix the issues that need to happen to make the repair. Because if they didn’t lie their asses off you wouldn’t even be in this predicament.

Did you have a check engine light when you brought it in?

The DPF means it’s an older model. My understanding is those were the ones they would have problems retrofitting.

Just take the money and run. Walk in with the title and you will have a check in 15 minutes.

The check engin light came on Monday. Yes it was on when I went in.

It is a 2012 model.

That’s why they probably can’t do it.

My dash with lit up like a Christmas tree when I did the buyback.

Did you check how much they are offering for the buyback option? Mine was way too good to pass up.

Yes, quite familiar with it. Had my Jetta mod done and am actually quite happy as I am getting BETTER mileage after the mod.

My son on the other hand could not have the mod done to his Golf due to EGR and DPF issues. It's not that they can't do the mod with these issues .. it's that they can't do them legally. They got into a whole lotta shite because they sold cars that couldn't do what they said they could. They would get into even more shite if they did a MOD and said your car was "good to go" when in fact the EGR and DPF issues you have could screw up the emissions .. in essence they would be lying again if they did the MOD without having you fix the other issues first.

They will however, gladly take it as is for a buyback. Actually a good deal if you don't mind getting a different car.

No, I sold the damned car with the buyback deal and now drive around in a Lexus pretty much paid for by VWs mistake (I mean, not really , but it put a hell of a down payment on it and I'd have never bought it with a regular trade in)
