That's one way to (de?)-escalate a tense situation..

Can you describe what happened so I can be outraged without having to watch a dog get shot?

If it's an uncollared dog it's fair game.

I think it's pretty clear at this point that police SOP is to just shoot any dog that is in the area and makes a sound.

We can get mad at every video posted to the Internet (and it's a legit reason to get mad), but it's obvious the only way it will subside is for people to be extra responsible with their pets when cops are in the area. There is never going to be some concerted effort to stop this, especially when they shoot the occasional human to draw the attention.

Seen that video on here before I'm pretty sure.

About as bad as a cop dog shooting goes....the guy who took those shots doesn't deserve to hold a gun.

And thus began the great Canine uprising of 2015...

By the end, the world was in tatters, and it was us who were the "bad dogs."

Dog runs at Swat team....1st shot stops dog and turns it....2nd shot finishes it. Time between 1st shot and 2nd shot is approx. 1 second.

I don't feel like watching a dog get shot right before I go to bed

So, make sure you lock your pets up before the SWAT teams bust down your door with a surprise no-knock search warrant raid?

Enacting on something because it is fair game is a concept that generally pertains to something that you enjoy or benefit from.

Yes it is.

27 second mark the dog stops and his back legs and hips go down from the 1st shot then at 29 seconds he goes down for good.

No, your dog is probably not going to make it in that case.

Note that I'm not condoning this. I'm just past hoping cops would use some sense or grow some balls in these situations.

The dog is running the other way when the first shot is fired. And it was a double tap, not a one second delay.

I don't feel the need to try and convince you. I assume literally everyone else who watches this video sees this. Except you, of course.

Seriously? It was legit walking way before the first shot was fired

Crazy part is this is basically exactly what has happened in the recent trend of cops shooting young black males

I've looked at it numerous times. It looks like the first shot is while the dog is running forward and thats what stops him and turns him around and he is walking away wounded. Then follow up shot(s) finishes him.

LOL, no. They shot the dog as it was walking away.

Not that it matters because that was a smallish dog and the cops are grown men. A group of grown men should not be deathly afraid of dogs. Sorry.

It was a small Australian Cattle Dog.

I'm not saying the dog was charging and attacking. Just that the 1st shot was while the dog was running or trotting forward toward them.
