Like the 'monster trucks' this thing is some sort of modified custom dune buggy more than a truck.
I laugh when I see regular "lifted" trucks because the axles are still low to the ground, although the body is higher.
To really get suspension, you can't have a solid axle, you've got to have a suspension system like this thing has. Being said, it's really fun to watch.

I'm guessing you are just talking about the front suspension, since this one has a solid rear axle.
It's more about the 6k each shocks and downward travel, then the axles here.

I agree, but a good, linked independent suspension setup can cost about 3-4 grand per corner. More than your average joe can afford.
Independent suspension is like a vagina. Soft, sexy, and expensive.
